Where is it?


The Snake River forms the border between Idaho on the east and Oregon and Washington on the west. Hells Canyon is a National Recreational area with a vast wilderness area bordering both sides of the river.

Are there any special physical requirements?

No previous experience required, but participants should be in moderately good physical condition. Some activities are strenuous and may not be included if there are medical concerns. (Contact Mountain River Outfitters for specific medical or physical needs)

What are some highlights of this trip?

At 1.2 miles deep, Hells Canyon is the deepest gorge in North America . The water is warm, great for swimming, with big volume rapids in all seasons. Artifacts from prehistoric tribes and rustic remains of early miners and settlers lie beneath spectacular mountain peaks and vast reaches of remote wilderness. Fish for Smallmouth Bass or Rainbow Trout and prehistoric Sturgeon reaching 10 feet, or maybe watch for wildlife such as big horn sheep, black bears, elk, mule deer, river otters and eagles.

What equipment is included?

Sleeping bag, pad, pillow, roomy 2 person shared tent included. Everything but your toiletries, personal clothing and items like camera's, book, etc. Wetsuits provided for paddlers in May and June if necessary.
