Hell's Canyon Whitewater Rafting

Everything about Hells Canyon and the Snake River running through it is BIG. Big whitewater, Big waves, Big fish, and Big breathtaking views of the Wilderness Area of North America's deepest canyon.  If your looking for excitement Hells Canyon rafting trips offer year around white water rafting thrills, Granite and Wild Sheep are 2 of the biggest rapids found in the northwest.  If you are looking for adventure the canyon offers great hiking and photo opportunities with maintained trail systems throughout including many of the side canyons.  Pictographs left by the Nez Perce Indians are abundant along with the many historical cabins left by the early pioneers.  Hells Canyon is full of wild life and beauty during April, May and June, displaying the many colors of spring wildflowers.  The Summer months are dry and warm with swimming and camping under the stars at night.

The Snake River through Hell's Canyon is not only a great whitewater river trip but boasts some of the best fishing found anywhere, with Sturgeon, Bass and Trout fishing.  This is truly paradise for the adventurous sportsman with Sturgeon averaging 6 to 8 feet, Small Mouth Bass virtually every few minutes and Rainbows for the fly fisherman. Guests can enjoy paddling together in a paddle raft or relax and fish out of the oar boat where your guide will take care getting you in the right spots for the excitement your looking for.  We also have inflatable kayaks available by request if your really looking for the adrenalin rush.  Our camps offer comfort to all, you will truly be pampered while your tent is waiting with a 2" sleeping pad, comfortable sleeping bag and pillow.  You can lounge in the shade while your guides serve you great food from dutch ovens or off the grill, take a hike, do some fishing, play a game or read a book.  We have tried very hard to overlook nothing for you to have the adventure of a lifetime.

3 - Day 2 - Night Hells Canyon rafting Expedition

This trip packs allot into a tight schedule, starting at the border of the Wilderness Area you will be leaving the roads behind as you leave the ramp.  The big whitewater of Hells Canyon is just around the corner. The trip ends at Pittsburgh Landing, the 34 miles will amaze you at every turn, even the shuttle out of the canyon will leave you in awe.

4 - Day 3 - Night Hell's Canyon rafting Expedition

If you are as equally interested in the fishing, history, hiking and relaxing as you are the whitewater rafting add an additional day to the 3 day and you have the perfect river vacation.  This trip just gives you more time to do everything you would have wanted to do on your vacation in Hells Canyon. Obviously this trip appeals to the fishermen who can't get enough of the world class fishing the Snake river offers.

5 - Day  4 - Night Hell's Canyon rafting Expedition with Jet Back

This trip includes everything the 3 day expedition has with an addition 30 miles of spectacular scenery and of course more great fishing and adventure. At the end of your raft trip you will board a jet boat for an exhilarating ride back to Pittsburgh Landing. This less crowded section of the river will give everyone a sense of wilderness and adventure, you will see the confluence of the Imnaha and Salmon River.  This trip can be customized to a 6 - Day 5 - Night trip.

Transportation and Lodging Package

We provide on all Hell's Canyon whitewater trips shuttle service from Riggins, Idaho to the put-in at Hells Canyon Dam and shuttle back to Riggins, Idaho.  We have a Boise airport package that includes the shuttle to and from the Boise Airport and lodging at the Best Western Salmon Rapids Lodge before and after your Idaho white water river trip. Subject to availability and minimum 6 people.

Hells Canyon 3 day "Cast and Blast"

Love to Fish?  Love to Bird Hunt?  Come to Hells Canyon for the ultimate sportsman's adventure. The wild Chukar (Himalayan Partridge) in there preferred environment are a rewarding challenge for the most avid bird hunter. As we float the Snake River in the bottom of this spectacular canyon, casting to Rainbow Trout and Small Mouth Bass we will be listening for the cackle of the Chukar at river's edge. Finish releasing your Rainbow, grab your shotgun as the guide maneuvers you into position, you can imagine the rest. At the camp that was set up earlier that day we will set the Sturgeon rod for the 8' to 10' monsters. After feasting on that nights meal you can either relax in the beauty of the canyon or pick up your fishing rod for the evening hatch on the Snake or one of it's many tributaries. One of the great rivers flowing into the Snake along the way is the Imnaha where we can venture up with our fly rods for Steelhead just in from the Pacific. If you are getting bored with all the fish, take the dog on a hunt for a few Chukar.

 

This adventure into Hells Canyon has endless possibilities for the outdoor enthusiast. This trip can be catered to each individual's passions whether you want to Fly Fish, Chukar Hunt, Catch a big Sturgeon, Steelhead fishing, or just spot for wildlife and relax. Don't forget you are on one of the best whitewater river's, your guide might have a few thrills in store. When we are finally thru with the last days fishing and hunting we will rendezvous with the *jet boat for the 30 mile ride back to Pittsburgh Landing. A shuttle will be waiting to take you back to Riggins in time for dinner at the Seven Devils Steakhouse. *(6 person minimum)

3 Day "Fly Fishing" expedition

Looking for world class fishing and wilderness adventure vacation rapped in one? Mountain River Outfitters has put this trip together just for the fly fishing addicts looking for the ultimate vacation catered just for them.  Experienced Fly fishing guides will not only get you to the fish and safely navigate the powerful Snake River but can give instruction for the novice.   2 fisherman per raft front and back with plenty of room for both.  Cast for Small Mouth Bass with hoppers and large dries or strip a streamer for Rainbow Trout as you drift through the Canyon. Fish from shore at camp where the guides will be cooking a delicious Dutch Oven meal.  Sturgeon rods can be set at camp in the morning and evening maybe during lunch.  Steelhead just in from the ocean and Columbia River will be waiting at the Imnaha and Salmon River confluences on your final day.
